What is the qualification procedure I need to pass in order to be included in your active provider database?

As we are an ISO 17100 certified company, we comply with standard requirements concerning our linguists’ qualifications and experience. Thus, we will kindly ask you to provide us with your qualification certificates and a copy of your diploma(s). In the absence of a formal degree in translation, a diploma of higher education plus 2 years of full-time professional experience in translation, or 5 years full-time professional experience in translation will be considered sufficient qualification.

In order for us to evaluate the quality of your translation/editing, you will be asked to complete a short, free test translation. You will be able to choose a text that best matches your specialisation.

What CAT Tools do I need to use?

memoQ, SDL Trados Studio and Memsource are the most popular CAT tools at Diskusija, and we expect you to be able to work with one or a few of them. However, for some projects we use other industry standards or a client’s proprietary CAT and QA tools. Your willingness and readiness to adapt to our needs and embrace various technologies will expand our cooperation possibilities.

Familiarity with CAT tools is a huge advantage, but we are certainly open to working with good linguists who are willing to learn and develop their technical skills.

How do I receive job offers from Diskusija?

Diskusija uses an online project management system where all processes are systemised.

All the information you need is in one place: ongoing and already finished jobs, purchase orders and invoice information, payment status, as well as the possibility to register your holidays and days off. The Diskusija Vendor Portal guarantees you a secure and user-friendly administrative space.

How often will I receive job offers?

The frequency of our job offers depend on the language combination you provide, your specialisation, your quality evaluation results and your rates. Some language combinations are more in demand than others.

When our project managers get a project matching your profile, they will send you a job offer. The speed of your response, your willingness to work for us and readiness to go the extra mile to satisfy our client’s needs also counts when our project managers are choosing an external partner to assign the job to.

Can I refuse a job offer?

Yes, you can decline a job offer.

You should also make sure that any material you accept is a subject you are experienced in or are comfortable translating/editing.

Please decline the assignment if you are not sure if you are able to deliver high quality and accurate work that meets the professional standards of the translation services industry.

If you believe your competence and technical knowledge is sufficient to deliver high quality work, but are unable to meet the deadline indicated in our request, please feel free to propose your own deadline.

Please reply ASAP to our request, even if you are not available.

Will I be able to get help if I encounter problems with an accepted job?

Diskusija’s friendly project managers are always ready to help you. You can share any questions regarding a project with a project manager.

However, if your issue is not urgent, we do expect you to reduce questions to an absolute minimum by checking all other available resources first (project instructions, reference material, consulting experts or colleagues, dictionaries, glossaries, the internet, client websites, and other useful websites).

How do I prepare my invoice for Diskusija?

Our user-friendly vendor portal eliminates paperwork, saving you time and effort. Simply connect to the system, generate an invoice and assign your unique invoice number.

No excels, no signatures, no emails, no snail mail - everything is safely stored and managed through our system.

We accept one invoice per month.

What are Diskusija payment terms?

You will always get paid on time! All payments are made a month according to the terms provided in the Diskusija agreement.

Payments are made by wire transfer or another preferred payment method (arranged with you in advance).
